Essential:

  • Experience in High-Care food production management desired

  • HACCP, food safety and hygiene

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving Skills

  • Have experience in driving change management and will be comfortable making tough decisions while upholding a strong set of behaviours and values.

  • Be capable of successfully transitioning from the factory floor to the boardroom, demonstrating good commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to wider business initiatives.

Duties:

  • Support the Middle-level Managers to manage the day-to-day activities of Production, Warehousing, Quality, and Logistics.

  • Ensure Managers are briefed and clearly understand the key organizational messages.

  • Have commercial awareness when working on business strategies to develop plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Being able to balance strategic and operational priorities will be vital in this role, you’ll need to have a hands-on approach but know when to delve into the detail or when to retain a wider perspective.

  • Ensuring Compliance with external audits, i.e., BSI, BRC, Lion code, etc.

  • Responsible for the production, procurement, and planning of daily operations.

  • Monitor budgets and costs effectively.

  • Planning and controlling change by researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency.

  • Have an awareness and support teams with Health and Safety in departments.

  • Inspiring, coaching, developing, and mentoring your team to grow into a positive culture.

  • Your leadership will be positive motivation and goal setting, leading by example.

  • Working with middle-level Managers to establish, implement and review their departmental policies and procedures, goals, and objectives, whilst bringing a continual improvement culture, and evolving processes by developing and reviewing what we do.

  • Have excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant Industry: FMCG Product: Food Location: Kent Package: £30k - £40k


Desirable criteria:

  • Qualified or part-qualified with 1 year of management accounting experience.

  • Sage 200

  • Strong spreadsheet skills, especially in Excel.

  • Highly motivated

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Inquisitive nature

  • Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a larger finance team.

  • Good communication & presentation skills

  • Ability to work to strict timelines.

Duties:

  • Accruals and prepayments

  • Preparation of month-end journals

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Maintenance of fixed assets register.

  • Support with monthly (and weekly) management accounts

  • Provide commentary on results.

  • Support with the annual budget process

  • Provide analysis & written explanations.

  • Review & update the forecast.

  • Reporting and analysis of both financial & non-financial indicators

  • Trending of data and investigation of anomalies.

  • Identify opportunities to continually improve site performance.

  • Support the financial team to balance monthly all balance sheet entries – including Fixed Assets and Stocks

  • Liaise with head office functions to collect information for product costing.

  • Calculate and provide analysis on accurate product costing for decisions at the Senior Management level.
