To deputise for production manager in the coordination of the production of products from intake to the packing area achieving the highest standards in terms of health & safety, quality & efficiency to agreed budgets.

Duties:

  • Support the production manager in ensuring all tasks carried out within the allocated work area are done so in a manner to protect product safety, legality, and quality in accordance with the Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (FSQMS), which encompass all certification of the factory, HACCP & requirements of customers

  • Contribute to the achievement of all company & site objectives.

  • Deputise for the production manager in his/her absence.

  • To cultivate a continual improvement/lean manufacturing culture throughout the site.

  • Compilation of staff rotas and allocation of work to ensure the efficient use of labour.

  • Coordination of all resources required to meet daily production demand in consultation with planning, packing & laboratory: preparing production plans and updating as required, “ready to wrap” validation.

  • Managing monthly stock takes and orders as required for ingredients, chemicals, and PPEs. Liaising with suppliers as required.

  • Participate in ensuring that processes and products conform to the Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (FSQMS) including procedures, work instructions, and hygiene standards, and are rigorously followed and enforced by staff.

  • Integrate health, safety, and environmental management throughout all operations

  • Demonstrate strong and active leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of control

  • To ensure the use of effective communication methods

  • Participate in ensuring that all appropriate documentation is completed accurately and timely to promote compliance with legislative and Food Safety & Quality Management Systems standards. When necessary, instigate the required corrective action in the event of a limit/test requirement being out of specification.

  • To identify process and product deviations and non-conformances, investigate any non-conformances promptly and report back to the relevant Manager.

  • To maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene across the production team as stipulated within the company hygiene rules and good manufacturing policies.

  • To organise and follow trials within the production environment
